One night in a dream BoneDaddy told me to find a place for friends located near to the center of everyone with a beer garden, outdoor cooker area for members to use, a great sound system for LIVE entertainment (local, regional and headline) and to make plans to have LIVE streaming video capability so people around the world could see the bands that came to play. BoneDadddy went on to say the beer had to be real cold and the bar had to be well stocked. He demanded good service and to be sure it would be a place where members could be at home and have a great time. He conveyed other visions and we are in the process of carrying them out. He stressed the need to be slightly irreverent but never out of line.
Blacklight Lounge
Your Hosts at BoneDaddy's
"Purple" Randy Scherr, Managing Member/General Manager, Long term avid rider (47 years),
Purple managed Scooters in the late 90's and also owned a successful Jazz venue in Raleigh in the 1980's. This club is a lifelong dream put into action.
Lowery "Wolfman" Perry, Managing Member, Long term avid rider (47 years), Lowery is our equipment specialist and is in charge of us having some of the coldest
beer in town at all times. He too came out of retirement to build the club and looks forward to relaxing a bit.
Donna "Sidetrack" Eatman, Managing Member & Nancy "Little Purple" Scherr, Managing Member. Sidetrack and Little Purple are the smart ones. They own
a piece of the biz and will be working here only when they can, they have full time paying jobs of their own.
The managing partners have ridden together for many years and Lowery & Purple were 2 of the original 14 founding/charter members of
Rolling Thunder, NC Chapter 4. They share a deeply felt love of motorcycling and the "rider's life". After several years of looking they settled on
the current location for BoneDaddy's to design and develop a club built by riders for riders.
Our staff
We interviewed a lot of potential bartenders and waitstaff and we tried our best to pick the best to serve our members. Our staff is terrific and
have a great deal of experience in mixing good cocktails and serving cold beers. We can't wait for you to check them out and get to know them.
We are riders:
This is a venue built by riders. All the contractors involved with the development and construction and nearly all
the people who have had a hand in getting us open are bikers. Special thanks to the following for their help, without which this would have been even harder
to get this to reality: JD Long, Gary Turner, Tommy Walls, Allen Shindledecker, Buddy McGhee, Possum, Art Welch, LuAnn Spain, Laurie McClain, Robert Stapleton,
Dale Gardner, Scott Northrup, Ray & Jean Price, James Buie, Jimmy G, Mark & Robin Melton, Patrick Neil, Lisa Wichchalonis,
Sean Canevari, Brandon West, Mike Britt, Fred & Evelyn Smith and last but far from least Mary Ann Scherr (Purple's Mom). Thank you all for your help!
We are here to provide a long term venue to enjoy the camaraderie and the activities that the riding community thrives on. We hope you will come, enjoy
your time here and leave attitudes and problems at the curb. We promise to do all that we can to make your stay as enjoyable and fun as possible.
The Ghost of the Scramble Dog
One evening a few years ago the Ghost of the Scramble Dog and BoneDaddy got
together around a fire and discussed many of the good times they had had in their journeys. They talked & talked, reminiscing about old mutual friends, good
and bad times, broken parts and the art of fixin' a thing - often laughing. One thing they both agreed on was that our community of riders lost a very special place
when the Scramble Dog burned down and even though many bars have come and gone during all those years… something was missing in each and every one.
The Ghost wanted a new place to protect and to be a part of. BoneDaddy, with a twinkle in his eye, turned to the Ghost and told it about what he wanted to do.
As he described his vision both of these rascals laughed till they nearly cried and the Ghost started to get pretty excited as BoneDaddy went on.
All of a sudden the Ghost of the Scramble Dog got a very serious look on his face and asked BoneDaddy if he could take up residence in the Hideaway, if it
ever got built. They agreed that it was the right thing to do.So if you ever see a ghost while you're at BoneDaddy's, it's OK!; he is protecting the place and
is very happy to be here.
